Recently, rumours have been spreading that tuman is unsettling the rest of the teammates due to his brilliant performances for scorchers fc. Namely ken the bang and yang the bang the 2 biggest culprits. They have been sidelined due to their incompetence and are jealous tuman has been upgraded from a squad rotation player to an indispensable player due to his commanding presence in defence, bringing his team to a different level. Lenny is also slowly taking away yang's position as the main striker with a hellava strike against our opponents. As for ken the bang, he was never a main player. A fringe player who only gets to play when there's only 10 players should be brushing up on his skills instead of unsettling the other players.

Following rumours that James and Felix are looking to move on, a spokesman from Scorchers FC has stepped out today to confirm the news. It is believed that James and Felix have came to their decision after a long talk with the manager. It is widely believed that James and Felix have left in search of a greater challenge and Scorchers FC will like to wish them for the best in their future endeavours.

Hi fellow Scorcherians!

Below is the image of my injury. It is rated M-18. And as you can see it is looking much better. No more blood spilling out at least. Hopefully, I can recover in time for our next match. I'm looking forward to it.

This is a picture that i drew with paint. Woke up the next morning after the injury and looked into the mirror and saw myself staring at chucky! LOL

I would like to say a big THANK YOU for your 100 dollars kind donation to fund the costs incurred for my injury. My first soccer pay check! haha.

Some amendments to the image created by lenny due to some errors in the line-up. First of all, AK was playing on the right side while i was on the left side. And the other error is shown in the image i have created. (The reason why we could keep a clean sheet for the first time i know and why our defence seemed impenetrable) Added on with the 4G connection, we were peerless (Mervyn and denzyl were having too much fun at the top, barely came back to defend, leaving me and AK to keep them at bay) 4G rocks.

FULL TIME --- SCORCHERS FC 5:0 TEAM RIVER VALLEY

Scorers : Scorchers FC --- Denzyl, Weilin, Zhenjie, Ser Hwee, Leonard

In the 4th match of the season, Scorchers FC were able to welcome back Mervyn and Zhenjie from long layoffs. New signing Leonard was also out to prove his worth to the team after putting pen to paper to a contract with Scorchers FC just days before the match.

Right from the kick off, it was Scorchers FC who looked the more purposeful side as they started off with a high tempo, closing down the opponents quickly and fighting for every single ball. With hardworking and pacy strikers Albert and Leonard up front, Team River Valley defenders were put under tremendous pressure right from the start. The enthusiastic start of Scorchers was rewarded with a great chance for Leonard when he was left unmarked in the area after a cut-back by Albert. Alas, he missed the opportunity to score his first goal for Scorchers, dragging his shot horribly wide. Soon after, it was Albert's turn to spurn a great chance when a long ball played up front evaded the River Valley centre back, falling nicely for Albert. With only the keeper to beat, Albert scuffed the shot and the keeper gladly smothered the ball. Really, it should have been 2-0 by now.

As the match went on, Scorchers kept up the unrelenting pressure and earned numerous corners from which Ak missed a couple of open headers. Then, the highlight of the match occured. Going in for a 50-50 ball with the Team River Valley goalie, Albert ended up the worse of the two after the collision. Suffering a nasty gash to his head and with blood coming out of the gash profusely, Albert had to be carried off the pitch and was promptly sent to the clinic by Zhenjie to get some treatment. What this meant, was that for the second consecutive match, Scorchers Football Club were finding themselves in the situation of having to play with only 10 men.

While most teams would be satisfied with sitting back and defending, Scorchers Football Club were not about to do so. Keeping up the pressure and determined to gain something from the game till Albert and Zhenjie returned, Scorchers Football Club earned 4 consecutive corners. The eventual corner, curled nicely by Denzyl to the near post, evaded all the Team River Valley players and hobbled into the net. 1-0 Scorchers Football Club and the players from Scorchers were absolutely delighted.

Switching to a more defensive outlook from the kick-off, Scorchers Football Club were content to start pumping long balls up as they set out the barricades to defend their 1 goal lead. It therefore came as a surprise when a terrible mix-up between the Team River Valley goalkeeper and the centre back allowed Weilin to steal in and slide the ball towards goal. Ecstastic celebrations broke out moments later when the ball entered the net. 2-0 Scorchers Football Club, accomplished with only 10 men on the pitch. Surely that must be an achievement to be proud of. The score was to remain intact at 2-0 till half time and the Scorchers players must have been proud of their first half effort. Not only had they scored two goals, they had also hardly gave their opponents a sniff at goal.

Second half soon ensued. Team River Valley, probably spurred on by their half time teamtalk, suddenly looked more penetrative and were starting to cause troubles for the Scorchers defence which had been untested previously. The Scorchers defence held firm though, and despite looking brighter in the second half, Team River Valley were only limited to pot shots from outside the box. It was from one such shot though, by Team River Valley right midfielder Tingshu that gave Scorchers Football Club their first scare of the day as keeper Ka Yun failed to make a clean catch as the ball went out for a corner, inches away from entering the net.

Despite the pressure piled on by Team River Valley, Scorchers could have gone 3-0 up when an inspired long range shot by Shahril from the right flank caught the Team River Valley keeper off his line. Sailing past the keeper, the ball went agonisingly wide of the far post, denying Shahril what would have been the goal of the season till date. Ka Yun was then caught in no man's land when a weak punch clearance from him fell to James just outside the box who unleashed a shot at goal. Fortunately for Scorchers FC, Ak was on hand to block the shot which otherwise would have gone into goal.

Frustration was now setting into Team River Valley's play as they struggled to break down the Scorchers' defence. Scorchers FC were then given a boost when Zhenjie and Albert returned to the sidelines and Zhenjie was immediately thrown into action. Making his return to the side into the squad, Zhenjie was full of energy and was everywhere around the pitch, determined to make up for lost time. Moments later, the hardworking Weilin was replaced by Albert.

With two new pair of fresh legs on the pitch, Scorchers stepped up their tempo and adopted a more offensive approach to the game. The change in gameplan was to pay dividends soon after. Breaking free of his marker, Zhenjie sent in a cross into the box looking for Albert who had broke free of the last defender. Left with no choice, the Team River Valley keeper rushed out to punch the ball away. It was to prove disastrous though. The ball fell straight back to Zhenjie outside the box who controlled it down and unleashed a volley towards goal without hesitation. Scrambling back towards his goal, the keeper was unable to prevent the ball from entering the net via the exposed near post. 3-0 Scorchers FC. What a scorcher that was!!!

The significance of that goal was to prove priceless, as it brought back the attacking instincts of the Scorchers FC players who had been defending stoutly for the best part of the match. Smelling blood, Scorchers FC players surged forward looking for more goals. With Team River Valley totally shackled by the third goal, it was not long before the 4th goal arrived. A first time pass from Ser Hwee found Leonard who beautifully flicked the ball first time into the path of overlapping left back Mervyn who was free. Cleverly drawing a defender to him, Mervyn then played the ball back into the path of Leonard. Receiving a call from Ser Hwee to move aside, Leonard dummied the ball and Ser Hwee striked the ball mightily to cap off a great team move. As the keeper scrambled across his goalmouth to get to the ball, he was left in shock when the ball hit his defender and took a wicked deflection, leaving him wrong-footed. There was nothing he could do except to watch on helplessly as the ball entered his net for the 4th time.

4-0 Scorchers FC. Two goals in quick succession sealing Team River Valley's fate. Scorchers FC were not able to let up yet though. From a corner, Ak's header was blocked on the line by a Team River Valley defender. When the ball fell down invitingly for Chao Zhang inside the six-yard box, he hesitated and the chance to bag his 1st goal of the season was gone when Team River Valley quickly cleared the ball. 4-0 up and it was time for Chao Zhang to show his stuff. Bringing the ball up the field from the defence, Chao Zhang skipped past several challenges before earning a free kick when he was tripped. Stepping up to take the free kick himself, Chao Zhang then sent the ball over the bar.

With time running out, Scorchers FC managed to bag another goal when Leonard manged to cut inside his marker from the right flank before unleashing a powerful shot that beat the keeper at his near post. To say that Leonard deserved the goal was an understatement, such was his work rate on a day that Scorchers FC had to cope once again with the situation of playing with 1 striker. 5-0 Scorchers FC. Full time beckoned but there was still enough time for Chao Zhang to go on one of his typical Rio Ferdinand runs up the field as he advanced up half the pitch by simply heading the ball again and again. Brilliance or just plain joker one wonders. The full time whistle blew soon after. 5-0 Scorchers FC the full time result.

What the pundits say ---
This surely has been one of Scorchers FC's best performance this season. The first clean sheet of the season will surely do good for the confidence of the team. Every single member of the squad put in their utmost, running themselves down to the ground to achieve this wonderful result. Unfazed by having to play with 1 man less, Scorchers FC not only prevented the opponents from scoring any goals during that period, they even manage to nick 2 goals in. Every single member of the squad deserves a Man-of-the-match award in this great team effort. We also look forward to a speedy recovery by Albert.

Line-up ---
Ka Yun, Thia, Ak, Cz, Mervyn, Weilin, Ser Hwee, Shahril, Denzyl, Leonard, Albert (Zhenjie '25)

Early news from the camp

Ever-present Kenneth looks set to miss out on this local derby however as he heads off to practise his diving skills in Tioman. Keeper Nathan will also be absent as he heads off to China. With confirmation yet to come from Ga, the situation is looking increasingly bleak as Scorchers Football Club lines up their options to get a keeper on loan from other clubs. As of now, the confirmed list reads : Cz, Zhenjie, Pompi, Ser Hwee, Shahril, Mervyn, Denzyl, Thia, Ak, Weilin, Albert and Leonard.
